In 2010, Portugal issued a coin of the face value €1.50 titled ‘One Coin against Hunger’. It is a part of the series launched in 2008 termed ‘One Coin, One Reason. For each FDC version of this coin sold, €1 will be donated to Banco Alimentar Contra A Fome (The Food Bank Against Hunger). It attempts to form an alliance between numismatics and the struggle for sharing and giving. The hands portrayed on the coin represent humanity while the bread denotes food.Latest News
